Tennessee general visits Volunteer well drillers

U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Robert A. Harris, commander, 194th Brigade speaks to local community leaders and military personnel near a well-drilling site in Djibouti, Feb. 20. Brig. Gen. Harris was on a five-day trip to Djibouti to visit his troops here. The well was being drilled by the 775th Well Drilling Detachment of the 194 Bde., a part of the Tennessee Army National Guard.

Mardi Gras spirit sent to Louisiana Guardsmen in Iraq

Lt. Col. David M. Lowe of Dixon, Mo., 35th Engineer Brigade judge advocate general officer, hands out Mardi Gras beads, stuffed animals and school supplies to more than 100 Iraqi children during a humanitarian mission with the Soldiers of the Louisiana National Guard's 769th Engineer Battalion of Baton Rouge, La. The Mardi Gras supplies were sent by Soldiers' Angels, a nation-wide organization, in effort to spread a little holiday cheer to the deployed Soldiers.

National Guard, USA Rugby team up for 16-nation tourney

The National Guard and USA Rugby partnered two years ago to ensure educational and athletic benefits are afforded to young people interested in pursuing the core values shared by USA Rugby and the National Guard. For the second year, the National Guard sponsored the USA Sevens Rugby Tournament recently held at Petco Park in San Diego. It is the largest rugby event in North America and the fastest-growing rugby event in the world.

107th ACS moves to Luke AFB

The unit supported the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service by helping transport 48 new photovoltaic batteries to power a lighthouse and workshop at the Fish and Wildlife Service research facility in the Farallon National Wildlife Refuge Feb. 17.
