Due to subzero temperatures, many residents in Thomasville and surrounding towns have been without water for almost a week. Brewer and Offutt, along with two other Alabama guardsmen, will remain in Thomasville for as long as there is a need.

A showcasing the UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopter received by the Alabama National Guard was held Jan. 9, 2010. The aircraft will be used to provide support to military and civilian authorities. It will also be a useful tool for search and rescue missions for emergency operations.

A Liberty Project MC-12W Air Force aircraft taxis on the flight line Jan. 9 at Key Field Air National Guard Base. Key Field Airmen provide mission qualification training here for the tactical intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) platform. It has trained and deployed more than 124 active duty crew members since Project Liberty's initial training began last March.
