Kentucky Guard donates 3,500 evergreens in Afghanistan

The Kentucky Agribusiness Development Team II donated 3,500 evergreen
saplings, which were distributed to the six Panjshir districts and one
municipality.

Massachusetts Guardsman remembered for selfless service
April 11, 2011
Army Spc. Dennis C. Poulin of Pawtucket, R.I., was a gunner with the
Massachusetts National Guard's Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 181st Division
assigned to the Kunar Provincial Reconstruction Team. Poulin died March 31,
2011, as a result of injuries suffered from a vehicle accident while
conducting a mounted combat patrol near Chowkay, Afghanistan.

New Mexico National Guard takes charge of diverse mission in Kosovo
April 7, 2011
U.S. Army Soldiers from the 111th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade of the New
Mexico National Guard, aided by troops from Ukraine, France and Greece,
present the national and brigade colors during the transition of authority
ceremony between KFOR-13 and KFOR-14 at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo, April 2,
2011. The 92nd MEB had been providing safey and security in Kosovo since
they took over the mission in July.

West Virginia Guard member looks back at Desert Storm

Sgt. 1st Class John Oliverio, a senior human resource non-commissioned officer, assigned to 1/201st Field Artillery, West Virginia Army Guard, wears his Desert Storm combat patch proudly. Oliverio was assigned to the 201st but attached to the 18th Airborne Corps and fondly remembers the welcome home celebration his unit received upon their return. Oliverio resides in Fairmont, W.Va., with his wife Barbara and together they share six children and six grandchildren.

New York Army Guard members learn survival skills from Canadian Army

33 Combat Brigade Group (33 CBG) deployed to Gogama, Ontario to conduct Exercise Wolfpack Endeavour 2011 (Ex WPE 11) from 12-20 March 2011. Ex WPE 11 will offer soldiers and leaders the complete winter warfare qualification, which is the foundation for future Army Reserve winter activities.

Within a two-week period at the end of March, more than 28,000 trees were planted throughout Ghazni in an initiative facilitated by Texas Army National Guard Ghazni Agribusiness Development Team-IV and the Ghazni Director of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock.
