Ill Teela sits out 20K biathlon race

Army Sgt. Jeremy Teela of the Vermont National Guard and the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program catches his breath after finishing ninth in the Olympic men's 10-kilometer sprint Feb. 14, 2010, at Whistler Olympic Park in British Columbia, Canada. He missed the Olympic men's 20-kilometer individual race yesterday because of illness.

Kansas engineers erect camp for Airmen in Haiti

Stewart, an engineering assistant with the Kansas Air National Guard's 190th Air Refueling Wing, rolls a tape measure while working with other members of the Air Force to survey the Port- au-Prince airport. Stewart is one of 46 members of the unit, who deployed to Haiti to build support infrastructure, including an Expeditionary Medical Support (EMEDS) support hospital.

Oregon Guardsman uses civilian skills to improve convoy routes

Sgt. Maj. Ted Carlson, the brigade operations sergeant major for the Oregon National Guard's 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, was recently asked to use his civilian skills as a long-haul driver for Federal Express to improve convoy routes in Iraq.
