South Carolina National Guard Changes Leadership

Army Maj. Gen. Robert Livingston, Jr., the new adjutant general of the South Carolina National Guard, addresses the crowd gathered to witness his assumption of command during a ceremony January 9, 2011, at the University of South Carolina Coliseum. He replaces the out-going adjutant general, Army Maj. Gen. Stanhope Spears, and is the 27th adjutant general of the South Carolina Guard.

In hospital bed ceremony, Kentucky Guardsman gets Purple Heart

Kentucky Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Chris Eden was awarded the Purple Heart Nov. 6 after receiving wounds in an IED explosion in Afghanistan on Oct. 30. Eden was presented the award by Maj. Gen. Edward W. Tonini, adjutant general for Kentucky, in a small ceremony at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Eden is a member of the Guard's 2123rd Transportation Company and a police officer for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Division of Police.

Missouri Guard strengthens ties with Panama

Study of Minnesota Guardmembers ties problems to post-traumatic stress

Peterson is a Soldier with Alpha Company, 134th Brigade Support Battalion, who was in Iraq with the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division. 34th ID Guardmembers participated in a study that suggested some post-deployment challenges arise from post-traumatic stress rather than traumatic brain injury
