Last of four MANG Soldiers receives Soldier's Medal for heroism during Boston bombings

Maj. Gen. L Scott Rice, the adjutant general, presents the Soldiers Medal to Staff Sgt. Geoffrey Curtis. Curtis was awarded the medal by Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker during a ceremony at the state house January 11, 2016. Curtis' award is in recognition of his swift response and heroic actions immediately following the Boston Marathon bombings in 2013.

Louisiana Guard prepares for rising flood waters

Youth ChalleNGe program helps “at risk” teens find roads to success

Devin Dunn, a cadet with the Maryland National Guard’s Freestate ChalleNGe Academy, which provides a means for "at risk" 16-to-18-year-olds to earn their GED certificate or high school diploma, works through math problems during class at the academy, Nov. 17, 2015. Part of the National Guard’s Youth ChalleNGe Program, which includes 37 academies throughout the country, the Freestate ChalleNGe Academy opened in 1993 and was one of the first academies of the program.
