New Jersey National Guard Partners with Republic of Cyprus

The New Jersey National Guard has been selected as the new state partner for the Republic of Cyprus, the third-largest island in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. New Jersey is also partners under the State Partnership Program with the Republic of Albania.

Virginia Guard Aviation Battalion Ends Kosovo Mission

U.S. Army Lt. Col. Matthew C. Lewis, commander of the 2nd Battalion, 224th Aviation Regiment, 29th Infantry Division, Virginia Army National Guard (Task Force Pegasus), and Command Sgt. Maj. Joseph R. Viera, the battalion command sergeant major, cased their unit’s flag, or colors, during a transfer of authority ceremony at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo, Oct. 11, 2022. The casing of the colors signifies the end of the task force’s rotation in Kosovo.

Cal Guard Unit Ends Year-long Deployment to Poland

Soldiers from the California National Guard’s San Bernardino-based 1-185th Infantry Regiment arrived home at Los Angeles International Airport Oct. 15, 2022, after a one-year deployment to Poland. The 1-185th was part of Battlegroup Poland, a NATO operation that enforces NATO and a multinational military presence in Northeastern Europe.

Indiana Guard, Nigerien Medics Bond Over Lifesaving Skills

The Indiana National Guard state partnership medical team spent more than two weeks in Niamey, Niger, in September instructing the Niger armed forces’ first combat medic team in tactical combat casualty care and behavioral health. Indiana and Niger have been State Partnership Program partners since 2017.
