Thailand: Army Guard Soldiers visit home for abandoned youth in Nakhon Ratchasima

Army Sgt. Michael Raaf, a medical readiness noncommissioned officer, and Army Capt. Joshua Van Vlack, chaplain both with 2nd Battalion, 162nd Infantry Regiment, 41st Infantry Combat Brigade with Oregon National Guard, fix a swing set at the Ratchasima Boy's Home here Feb. 10, 2012. The Guard members are training at Camp Friendship in support of Cobra Gold 2012. Cobra Gold 2012 is the 31st iteration of the joint, multinational exercise held to enhance interoperability with participating nations and to advance security throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Afghanistan: Kansas National Guard ADT gives Arbor Day gifts to locals

Army 1st. Lt. Andrew Webster, the project manager for the Kansas Agribusiness Development Team, and Ismail Dawlatzai, director of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, distribute fruit bearing trees at the Alingar Agriculture Extension Center, Feb. 1, 2012. Around 2,400 saplings were given to the approximately 200 elders from villages around Alingar district.

Michigan Guard member helped pave way for partnership with Liberia

Air Force Master Sgt. Leslie Blanks returned home Jan. 6, 2012, after a 6-month deployment to Liberia, where he worked as a mentor and adviser to a group of Liberian military personnel. Blanks is a member of the 127th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich. The Michigan National Guard and the Armed Forces of Liberia recently entered into a partnership through the National Guard's State Partnership Program.

Kuwait: Tennessee Guard mother, daughter duo serving up smiles

The Stoners are assigned to the 230th Engineer Battalion as food service specialists at the dining facility. Crystal uses the knowledge she gained from advanced individual training to better serve Third Army service members here at the dining facility. Their support in food service helps ensure everyone receives the support they need to continue their missions.

Partnership benefits New Hampshire Guard, El Salvador

Kosovo: Georgia Guard's newest citizen Soldier

Army Staff Sgt. Rodrigo Mondaca, a supply sergeant with the Georgia Army National Guard's 3rd Squadron, 108th Cavalry Regiment, officially became a U.S. citizen in a naturalization ceremony conducted at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo, Jan. 20, 2012. Mondaca is one of approximately 10,000 deployed military members who have taken the oath since 2001.

Armed Forces of Liberia completes legal training program with Michigan Guard members

About 50 AFL service members, including military police officers, investigators and paralegals, completed the three-week course that taught basics in detainee operations and military law procedures, among other topics. The legal training was one in a series of capacity building events designed to promote the developing AFL, which is being retrained and reequipped following several years of national strife.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Kelan Scott of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5 and Army Sgt. Joel Lara of C Battery, 1st Battalion 161st Field Artillery, Kansas Army National Guard, recite the oath of allegiance to the United States in front of fellow Soldiers and Sailors during a naturalization ceremony held Jan. 25, at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti. Both Lara and Scott said they left their respective countries for a higher quality living standard as well as education.
