Alaska National Guard teams up with Mongolian forces for Disaster Management Leadership Seminar

Mongolian emergency management personnel practice vehicle extrication techniques with members of the U.S. Air Force during a Disaster Management Leadership Seminar in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Sept. 21, 2016. The five-day seminar is a subject matter expert exchange between the U.S. and Mongolia. The Mongolia National Emergency Management Agency hosted the exchange, partnering with U.S. service members from Special Operations Command, Pacific.

American, NATO allies unite at Slovak Shield 2016

Allied Spirit V offers realistic combat experience to National Guard

More than 60 soldiers from the California Army National Guard's 40th Infantry Division are serving as the Higher Control (HICON) during Exercise Allied Spirit V through mid-October 2016. The soldiers are providing direction and expertise to military units from 8 NATO nations, including several U.S. active duty and reserve component personnel. The U.S. Army Europe training involves more than 2,500 participants working to strengthen tactical interoperability and test secure communications between NATO members and partner nations.

The event is meant to honor those who have died in service to the country and mirrors an event held at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa., home station for many units of the brigade.

South Carolina National Guard shares importance of reserve force with Colombian leaders

U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Robert E. Livingston, Jr., the adjutant general of South Carolina, participates in a panel discussion during the Colombian Army Transformation Symposium, Bogota, Colombia, Aug. 5, 2016.  Livingston’s discussions included the advantages of having a reserve force and challenges of developing a robust reserve component.  The South Carolina National Guard and the Colombian military began the State Partnership relationship in July 2012 and have continued to deepen the partnership.
