Colorado partners with Jordanian forces for chemical threat exercise

South Carolina Army National Guard Soldiers with the 251st Rear Area Operations Center at Log-base "Charlie" near the Saudi/Iraq border deployed to Southwest Asia starting on Jan. 9, 1991, to provide support during Operation Desert Storm. The South Carolina National Guard deployed more than 2,400 Army and Air Guard service members during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, representing 11 different Army Guard units and eight Air Guard units.

South Carolina National Guard strengthens State Partnership Program while fighting wildfires

A South Carolina Army National Guard CH-47 Chinook from Det. 1, Bravo Company, 2-238th General Support Aviation Battalion with Soldiers from Donaldson Field in Greenville, South Carolina, responded to a request for help from the South Carolina Forestry Commission to contain fires burning near the top of Pinnacle Mountain in in Pickens County, South Carolina, Nov. 15, 2016.  The aircraft is equipped with a Bambi Bucket, which can be filled with any available water to be transported and dumped on the fire.
