South Carolina National Guard strengthens State Partnership Program while fighting wildfires

A South Carolina Army National Guard CH-47 Chinook from Det. 1, Bravo Company, 2-238th General Support Aviation Battalion with Soldiers from Donaldson Field in Greenville, South Carolina, responded to a request for help from the South Carolina Forestry Commission to contain fires burning near the top of Pinnacle Mountain in in Pickens County, South Carolina, Nov. 15, 2016.  The aircraft is equipped with a Bambi Bucket, which can be filled with any available water to be transported and dumped on the fire.

U.S. Soldiers participated in Slovak Shield as a part of Atlantic Resolve, a U.S. led effort in Eastern Europe that demonstrates the U.S. commitment to the collective security of NATO and enduring peace and stability in the region.

Allied Spirit V offers realistic combat experience to National Guard

More than 60 soldiers from the California Army National Guard's 40th Infantry Division are serving as the Higher Control (HICON) during Exercise Allied Spirit V through mid-October 2016. The soldiers are providing direction and expertise to military units from 8 NATO nations, including several U.S. active duty and reserve component personnel. The U.S. Army Europe training involves more than 2,500 participants working to strengthen tactical interoperability and test secure communications between NATO members and partner nations.
