Airmen, volunteers foster community relations in IZ

Guardmembers flow in for inauguration support; first stop – in-processsing

Rhode Island National Guard members in town to support the presidential inauguration situate themselves in the East Gym at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., on Jan. 16, 2009. Thousands of Guardmembers from several states were arriving in the nation's capital to provide communications, transport, traffic control, medical and logistical support and crowd control, or participate in the inaugural celebrations themselves. Many will lodge at school gyms around the area.
