ARNG brigade prepares for first mountain storm

U.S. military signs over Camp Ramadi

Ronald Kapral, the commander of Camp Ramadi and the 81st Brigade Combat Team, Washington Army National Guard, sign a memorandum of agreement turning Camp Ramadi over to the Iraqi government Jan. 20 at Camp Ali, Iraq. The signing over of Camp Ramadi is a step toward coalition forces pulling out and handing complete responsibility and control back over to the Iraqis.

NY Guard trains Canadian aircrews on Chinook

Canadian avaitors are preparing for an upcoming deployment to Afghanistan and partnered with the Rochester-based Company B, 3rd Battalion, 126th Aviation for a two-week training period. The 126th Aviation recently returned from a 10-month deployment flying misions in Afghanistan.

The GED Plus program allows non-high school graduates to enlist in the Army National Guard with the stipulation they earn their GED prior to attending Basic Combat Training. In order to reach that goal, those in the program attend a course at the Army National Guard's Professional Education Center at Camp Robinson that prepares them to complete the GED exam.
