Louisiana Guard preserves coastal shoreline

Heavy equipment operators from the Louisiana National Guard's 922nd Horizontal Engineer Company, 769th Engineer Battalion, dump rocks to construct a barrier off the west side of Elmer's Island near Grand Isle,
La., May 16, 2010. The barrier will be a secondary defense in addition to the boom line in the Gulf of Mexico to prevent oil from reaching further inland.

Illinois Guard participates in medical exercise in Tunisia

Chief Warrant Officer-2 Lucas Bohm (left) along with Chief Warrant Officer-2 Lance Stafford, helicopter pilots assigned to the Illinois Army National Guard, help outfit one of their Tunisian Army counterparts with a U.S. Air Force issue chemical suit during the Medlite-10 Exerise. Chiefs Stafford and Bohm, along with Air National Guard and Army Reservists from Wyoming, Arizona, and Nevada traveled to northern Africa to help enhance the medical capabilities and interoperabilities between United States and Tunisian forces.

New York Guard hosts South African defense force chief
