Puerto Rico Guard helps Vieques with Tropical Storm Irene aftermath

The Puerto Rico National Guard's Maritime Transportation Unit of the Puerto
Rico National Guard transported heavy equipment for debris removal to the
island municipality of Vieques to help with repairs after the damage from
Sunday's Tropical Storm Irene.

Operation Lone Star brings free healthcare to valley

as Operation Lone Star, is an annual mission that provides free medical
services to people along the Texas border. More than 400 Texas Military
Forces service members, 200 state and county employees and numerous
volunteers collaborated for the exercise to not only help Texans in need but
also to conduct a real-world training event in preparation for any real world
disasters or emergencies.

Irene crossed over the Bahamas with 115-mph winds. The storm could strike the U.S. East Coast between Florida and the Carolinas as a Category 3 hurricane.

California Guard CERFP first to be transported by military air
August 24, 2011
Air Force Tech. Sgt. Bart Panighetti, an air cargo specialist from the 146th
Airlift Wing, California Air National Guard, detaches a trailer loaded on a
C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft in Volk Field, Wis., July 9,
2011, for Patriot Exercise 2011. The C-17 had just transported a Chemical,
Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and high-yield Explosive Enhanced Response
Force Package from California to Wisconsin. The 9th CERFP, of the California
National Guard, was the first team transported entirely by military aircraft
as part of Patriot, an international large-scale emergency response training
exercise.
