Texas National Guard performs multi-agency exercise, allows junior service members to lead

Soldiers from Texas National Guard's 436th Chemical Company and the 236th Military Police Company assist a casualty while conducting a collective training exercise at the Govalle Water Treatment Facility in Austin, Texas, April 26 to 27, 2012. This exercise helps Joint Task Force 71 maintain readiness to conduct the Homeland Response Force mission throughout Federal Emergency Management Agency Region 6.

Former National Guard Bureau senior enlisted leader retires, leaving a legacy for others

Army Command Sgt. Maj. David Hudson, who served as the second ever senior enlisted advisor to the chief of the National Guard Bureau from 2006 to 2009, retired May, 2012, after serving 38 years. Hudson, who served in the Air Force before transitioning over to the Alaska Army National Guard in 1984, last served as a special assistant to the adjutant general of the Alaska National Guard.
