The linguists were in Oman with the Oregon National Guard's 1st Squadron, 82nd Cavalry Regiment and a platoon from the 125th Forward Support Company, 1st Battalion, 194th Field Artillery Regiment from Joint Base Lewis McCord, Wash., as part of a two week training exercise with Omani soldiers as a way to share knowledge and build greater diplomatic relations.

Alaska Army National Guard aviation unit trains on wildfire response

Army Sgt. Kevan J. Katkus, a crew chief with C Company, 1st Battalion, 207th Aviation Regiment, monitors a water bucket under the UH-60 Black hawk helicopter he is in to ensure it is lifted completely out of the water before the helicopter moves forward during training on wildfire response at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.
