Sick baby and her family aboard Navy frigate after 129th Rescue Wing rescue

Sailors from Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate USS Vandegrift (FFG 49) assist in the rescue of the Kaufman family with a sick infant via the ship's small boat as part of a joint U.S. Navy, Coast Guard and California Air National Guard rescue effort. The family and four Air National Guard pararescuemen were safely moved from the sailboat to the Vandegrift, and the ship is now sailing to San Diego.

Pararescuemen assigned to the California Air National Guard 129th Rescue Wing transfer a patient from an HH-60G helicopter to land-based medical facilities during a long range over water search and rescue mission which originated 1,400 miles off the Coast of Acapulco, Mexico on Sept. 9, 2012. A similar mission is underway to save an American baby.

Falcon's presence helps put victims of sexual or physical assault more at ease, which in turn makes future visits to discuss a traumatic subject more tolerable.
