Alaska Air Guard members rescue stranded hikers on glacier

An Alaska Air National Guard HH-60 Pave Hawk, from the 210th Rescue Squadron, performs a simulated search and rescue pattern in Alaska. The 210th Rescue Squadron is part of a network of search-and-rescue organizations that save hundreds of lives in and around Alaska every year. This network includes not only the 210th's sister squadrons in the 176th Wing, but also such agencies as the U.S. Coast Guard, the Alaska State Troopers, the National Park Service, the Civil Air Patrol and others. Other 210th missions include non-combat search and rescue.

Air Force Master Sgt. Donald Steven Sanders, 134th Air Refueling Wing, McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base, Tenn., is the first Air National Guard member to be an Academy Military Trainer at the Air Force Academy, March 25, 2015. Sanders became an AMT through the Developmental Special Duties. DSDs are positions within the U.S. Air Force designed to create and progress Airmen through the leadership of other Airmen and place the most qualified Airmen in several key roles which have an impact on Airmen across the service.

Okyere-Bour is a wheeled-vehicle maintenance specialist from the 250th Brigade Support Battalion, and is currently a student at Rutgers University. David Jordan pet Falcon, a service dog with the Wisconsin National Guard’s sexual assault victim advocacy program, as he makes his way throughout the room during activities at the Army National Guard Readiness Center in Arlington, Virginia, marking the start of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, April 1. Falcon, who has been part of the Wisconsin Guard’s program for a little more than a year, was brought on as a way to provide a greater way to provide for survivors of sexual assault.

Southeastern U.S. Guard units practice interagency teamwork during Marlinspike exercise

Members of the 62nd Civil Support Team, Louisiana National Guard begin waterborne operations during Marlinspike 2015, an interagency exercise hosted by the Mississippi National Guard, with more than 100 participants from local, state and federal agencies. The main effort includes Civil Support Teams from the Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana National Guards responding to a maritime weapon of mass destruction threat.
