Oklahoma's 137th Air Refueling Wing closes one chapter before moving to next mission

A U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker assigned to the 185th Air Refueling Squadron refuels a MC-130J Combat Talon assigned to the 58th Special Operations Wing during a final training mission of the 185 ARS June 30, 2015. The 185 ARS will be transitioning to Air Force Special Operations Command.
Slovenia awards medal to Colorado Guardsman for two decades of cooperation

Slovenian Defense Attache Col. Ivan Mikuz awards Colorado National Guard Senior Enlisted Leader Command Sgt. Maj. Michael R. Lawrence the medal for multinational cooperation at the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia June 23, 2015. Lawrence has spent two decades helping build the partnership between Slovenia and Colorado as part of the National Guard State Partnership Program.
North Carolina Airman earns hallowed patch from Air Force weapons school

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. David Maddeford receives his Weapons School diploma from Col. Michael Drowley, Commandant, for USAF Weapons School, during a ceremony held June 27, 2015, in Las Vegas. Maddeford, a Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) with the 118th Air Support Operations Squadron, New London, North Carolina, was also one of five enlisted JTACs who made history by being the first enlisted graduates awarded the coveted graduate patch and enter into an elite group of “patch wearer” brethren.

Wyoming Vietnam veterans reunion welcomes home hundreds

Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead and a group of dignitaries welcome home hundreds of veterans and their family members at the Wyoming Vietnam Veterans Reunion Welcome Home ceremony, June 5, 2015, at Casper Events Center. More than 500 veterans of the "10,000-day war" gathered at the four-day event to mark the 50th anniversary of our nation’s commitment of major ground forces, and the 40th anniversary of the evacuation of Saigon and the end of the Vietnam War. This was the first state-sponsored reunion.

Tech. Sgt. Matthew Davidson, 106th Rescue Wing, and Army veteran Sgt. Vincent Rivera meet for the first time since Davidson saved Rivera from the side of a highway. Friday, March 27, at 0545, Rivera was sleepwalking and was found on the ground by Davidson along the side of Sunrise Highway, Route 27 on Long Island, New York.
Planning for Army Guard Best Warrior Competition challenging, rewarding

Competitors in the 2015 Army National Guard Best Warrior Competition at Camp Williams, Utah, step off at the start of the ruck march event June 23, 2015. The competition tests competitors on a variety of tactical and technical skills physically and mentally demanding three days as they vie to earn the title of Best Warrior and become the Soldier and Noncommissioned Officer of the Year for the Army Guard. The winners of the competition will then represent the Army Guard in the Department of the Army level Best Warrior Competition later this year.
