South Carolina National Guard members protecting the U.S. capitol's skies

For the third time in the last eight years, the South Carolina National Guard’s 2nd Battalion, 263rd Air Defense Artillery, 263rd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, based in Anderson, S.C., has been assigned to guard the sky over Washington, D.C.

Alaska National Guard rescues four men from glacier

Every day is Earth Day in Arizona Guard

A prairie dog that made its home on a firing range at Camp Navajo, Ariz., is carefully relocated to a safe living environment by Arizona National Guard environmental office personnel. The environmental office is responsible for protecting local wildlife on Arizona Guard installations as well as lessening the environmental impact of military training operations. For those in the office, every day is Earth Day.
