Va. Guard remembers Airmen, Soldiers on 14th anniversary of 203rd RED HORSE Squadron crash

The Virginia Air National Guard’s Virginia Beach-based 203rd RED HORSE Squadron holds a memorial service March 3, 2015, at Camp Pendleton to honor 18 unit members and three Florida Army Guard aviators killed 14 years ago. The 203rd engineers and the Florida aviators from Detachment 1, 171st Aviation Battalion, were killed March 3, 2001, when the C-23 Sherpa they were flying in crashed in a cotton field near Unadilla, Ga. The 203rd members were returning home after completing a two-week military construction project at Hurlburt Field, Fla. The C-23 crash was the worst peacetime aviation disaster in the history of the National Guard, and the worst loss of life in the Virginia National Guard since World War II. (

Serving in Antarctica: Chaplain on ice

New command chief warrant officer talks about his top priorities

New York's 107th Airlift Wing hosts class to train the trainers to teach satellite courses

The 107th Airlift Wing hosted an Instructor Certification Program here this past week with 16 New York Air National Guardsmen attending in order to become facilitators for Professional Military Education courses. Master Sgt. William Conner of Knoxville, Tennessee, is one of the instructors for this course, March 3, 2015.
