Virginia Guard Conducts Infantry Tactics Exchange in Tajikistan

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Fort Barfoot-based 183rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute, conduct an infantry tactics exchange with soldiers from the Republic of Tajikistan’s Ministry of Defense Peacekeeping Battalion March 3-8, 2024, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The Virginia Guard and Tajikistan are partners through the Department of Defense National Guard Bureau State Partnership Program.
Vermont City Builds on Guard's Partnership with Senegal

The Vermont The Vermont National Guard, shown working at the Thies Regional Hospital in Thies, Senegal, as part of a medical readiness exercise organized by the State Partnership Program, has partnered with Senegal under the program since 2008. The Burlington, Vermont, City Council voted unanimously March 25, 2024, to forge a sister city relationship with Thies-East, Senegal.
Deployed Pennsylvania Guard Soldiers Earn Their Combat Patch

Maj. Gen. James McCormack, assistant adjutant general, and Maj. Alex Stewart, State Partnership Program director, gave the delegation a tour that included the Training Support Center, live fire ranges and the Eastern Army National Guard Aviation Training Site at Muir Army Heliport.

Combat medics from the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team who are deployed to the Horn of Africa conduct joint medical evacuation cold-load training aboard a KC-130J aircraft at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, March 5, 2024. The training ensures interoperability with key U.S. military assets to expedite patient transfers to and from an aircraft in the event lifesaving measures and medical evacuation are requested.
