Missouri Guard members help Navy, Air Force recover helicopter

Missouri National Guard members led a joint removal of a Navy MH-60R Seahawk helicopter that crashed at the Jefferson City airport as it was taking off after refueling Oct. 1, 2011.

Texas Guard helps community reclaim neighborhoods

Members of the Joint Counterdrug Task Force conduct a house demolition in Harlingen, Texas, Aug. 31, 2011. The city government-ordered demolition was part of a daylong program, called Operation Crackdown that was developed to clean up neighborhoods by eliminating drug havens. The program is a part of the task force's community outreach effort designed to reduce illicit activities through the anti-drug message.

National Guard pilots from four states are now training on the UH-72A Lakota Security & Support variant at the Madison County Executive Airport in Alabama. The aircraft provides long-range electro-optical sensors and the ability to record and downlink data.

Virginia Guard home after helping Vermont reopen 400 miles of roads

Virginia National Guard members work to repair Hurricane Irene's damage to U.S. Highway 4 in Vermont on Sept. 12, 2011. The Virginia National Guard had been supporting the Vermont National Guard's Task Force Green Mountain Spirit under a state Emergency Management Assistance Compact. They ended their mission Sept. 27 after assisting with the reopening of nearly 400 miles of state highways.

Other Game 4 participation from the Texas National Guard included the singing of the national anthem during the seventh-inning stretch by Army National Guard Chief Warrant Officer 3 Darby Ledbetter.

Illinois adjutant general awarded Polish Army Medal

Army Maj. Gen. William Enyart, the adjutant general of the Illinois National Guard, receives the Polish Army Medal from Polish Land Forces Commander Lieutenant General Zbigniew Glowienka on Sept. 23. 2011. The Illinois National Guard and Poland have been partners through the National Guard State Partnership Program since 1993.

Alaska Guard members travel to Mongolia for SPP exchange

Kolyvanova and three other Alaska National Guard members traveled to Mongolia to participate in the exchange.

Suriname military leaders visit South Dakota National Guard

The South Dakota National Guard hosted dignitaries from the Republic of Suriname for a week in June.  Dignitaries were shown various military training associated with the annual Golden Coyote training exercise, which brought 2,100 National Guard Soldiers and Airmen from across the U.S. to the Black Hills for the two-week training event.  They were also shown ongoing missions by South Dakota's Soldiers and Airmen conducting flood relief related missions in the state's capitol.  The South Dakota-Suriname State Partnership Program was formally established in August 2006 to develop mutually beneficial partnerships between the two entities.
