Alaska Air National Guard members rescue two snowmobilers in middle of the night

An Alaska Air National Guard HH-60 Pave Hawk, from the 210th Rescue Squadron, performs a simulated search and rescue pattern in Alaska. The 210th Rescue Squadron is part of a network of search-and-rescue organizations that save hundreds of lives in and around Alaska every year. This network includes not only the 210th's sister squadrons in the 176th Wing, but also such agencies as the U.S. Coast Guard, the Alaska State Troopers, the National Park Service, the Civil Air Patrol and others.

Wisconsin National Guard Soldier honored for heroism in highway rescue

Michael Black of Brookfield, Wisconsin, a combat medic assigned to Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 127th Infantry Regiment in Appleton, Wis. Black received the Soldier's Medal Dec. 7, 2014, for his actions on Jan. 5, 2013 that saved a woman's life near White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.

Nearly 20 Airmen volunteered to assist in the annual "Trees for Troops" loading of about 150 donated trees bound for military installations and families around the country and the globe.
