Michigan Guardsman is first U.S. Armed Forces member to receive Latvian Award of Honor

U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Thomas Frutos stands with Latvian Maj. Frutos is assigned to the 217th Air Operations Group, Michigan Air National Guard, based at Battle Creek, Mich., and is the first U.S. Armed Forces member to receive the Latvian award. He was recognized for his expertise in airspace management, which resulted in a letter of agreement between the Latvian Civil Aviation Authority and the Latvian military creating military training airspace.
