Alaska Air Guardsmen rescue two skiers stranded on Harding Icefield

Lt. Col. The climbers became stranded at 8,500 feet in elevation due to weather and signaled for help, which evoked the launch of a rescue effort by the Alaska Air National Guard. A few days later, two skiers were rescued.

New York Air National Guard supports Canadian Forces Operation Nunalivut exercise in the High Arctic

The New York Air National Guard flies the only ski-equipped C-130 aircraft in the world and has supported the annual Canadian Forces exercise in 2014, 2015 and again in 2016.

Army Guard Soldiers set to compete in Best Ranger Competition

Melson  is one of eight Soldiers from throughout the Army Guard selected to take part in the upcoming competition, which tests Ranger-qualified Soldiers on a variety of tactical and technical tasks over a physically and mentally demanding course. Competitors from the Army Guard have been training at the WTC for the past several months in preparation for the competition.
