Heavy and wet spring snow brings out the Colorado National Guard

An M973A1 Small Unit Support Vehicle, or SUSV, clad in emergency lights and digital camouflage, claws its way through the snow at Taylor Park Reservoir near Gunnison, Colo., March 15, 2010. The SUSV, which is capable of traversing almost any terrain, is the primary vehicle used by the Colorado Army National Guard’s Snow Response Teams.
New York's 109th Airlift Wing's Greenland mission is underway

Colorado Air National Guard Airmen team up to save a life

Seven members of the Colorado Air National Guard 140th Wing Explosives Ordnance Disposal Flight responded to a severe car accident May 9, 2017, outside of the Buckley Air Force Base perimeter in Aurora, Colo. The Airmen provided emergency care to an unconscious individual and directed traffic to facilitate access for Aurora Fire and Ambulatory services.

New York National Guard members sandbagging areas around Lake Ontario

Airmen assigned to the 107th Attack Wing of the New York Air National Guard fill sandbags at the Kendall, N. Y. town garage on May 11, 2017, as part of the New York National Guard response to high water levels in Lake Ontario which resulted in local flooding. Between May 3 and May 13, 323 New York National Guard Soldiers and Airmen filled 239, 239,703 sandbags at six locations in counties along the lake.
