U.S. Army expands the Call to Active Duty Program for Guard and Reserve members

North Carolina Guard member in right place to rescue pilot from flaming plane wreckage

A single-engine plane crashed in a field at approximately 4:30 p.m. in Morganton, on Feb. 6, 2017.  Within minutes of the crash, North Carolina Army National Guard Sgt. Charles Roper was pulling the pilot from the burning cockpit.
