Alaska National Guard aerial survey reduces earthquake havoc

Members of the 176th Wing  performed an aerial damage assessment in a C-130J Combat King II Nov. 30, 2018, over south central, Alaska, following the earthquake that hit the Anchorage and Matanuska-Susitna Valley areas. In a matter of hours, members of the Alaska Air National Guard's Maintenance and Operation groups turned a planned community engagement into an aerial survey of earthquake damage, reporting findings to the State of Alaska's Joint Operations Center.

Kansas Army Guard Soldiers aid motorists trapped by snow

Kansas Army National Guard Soldiers from Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 130th Field Artillery and Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 130th Field Artillery, helped out stranded motorists in Marshall County along Highway 36 on Nov. 25, 2018.  The Kansas Army National Guard had nine Stranded Motorists Assistance Response Teams stationed across Kansas to assist local law enforcement during a snow storm that struck earlier that day.
