Michigan fire training builds multinational partnerships

From July 23 to Aug. 3, 2018, firefighters from Latvia, Bulgaria and Estonia attended an Incident Command course at Alpena (Michigan) Combat Readiness Training Center, gaining familiarity with tactics and techniques applicable during the initial decision-making phase of an emergency response situation.

Georgia Guard members deliver in multinational exercise

Remotely piloted craft are mainstays of wildland firefights

An aircrew from the 163d Attack Wing, California Air National Guard, fly an MQ-9 Reaper remotely piloted aircraft to the Mendocino Complex Fire in Northern California, Aug. 4, 2018, during a mission to support state agencies. The aircrew conducted fire perimeter scans and spot checks on the blaze, which encompasses the Ranch and River fires and continues to grow.

Pennsylvania Guard activates in response to July floods

Members of the Pennsylvania Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team were put on standby at the Aviation Flight Facility in Johnstown, Pa.in response to flooding that took place through much of Central Pennsylvania. The team is part of Task Force Aviation, with Soldiers from the 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade , Eastern Army National Guard Aviation Training Site and civilian rescue technicians on the team.
