140th Wing achieves firsts while supporting NATO exercise

The Colorado Air National Guard flew F-16 Fighting Falcons to Amari Air Base in Estonia to participate for the first time in Saber Strike 18 a multinational and U.S. multi-service exercise that will be conducted June 3-15, 2018, at locations throughout the Baltic region and Poland. This is the eighth iteration of the long-standing U.S. Army Europe-led cooperative training exercise focusing on improving land and air operational capabilities.

Representatives of the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center, out of Natick, Massachusetts, had an array of combat helmets on display at the Pentagon, May 24 and 25, 2018, as part of a "Close Combat Lethality Tech Day." This helmet, a NSRDEC prototype, provides equal protection to earlier helmets but at less weight.
