Airman brings Jiu-Jitsu skills to SPP partner Costa Rica

New Mexico National Guard Staff Sgt. Bradley Vallez took first place in a Jiu-Jitsu tournament. He used his non-lethal training to train police forces in Costa Rica, the New Mexico Guard's partner under the State Partnership Program.

177th Fighter Wing hosts ANG production assessment team

The team's goal is to increase the number of aircraft a unit can bring to the fight, focusing on the aspects of aircraft availability that units can control - how well and how quickly they repair aircraft and how smoothly they perform scheduled maintenance.

National Guard to back law enforcement at DC demonstrations

The District of Columbia National Guard will help U.S. Capitol and D.C. police at traffic control points in the nation's capital during anticipated First Amendment protests in February and March 2022. Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III approved the assistance of up to 400 DCNG members and 300 Guard members from outside the District of Columbia.

Virginia National Guard unit prepares for overseas mission

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Virginia Beach-based 576th Engineer Utilities Detachment, 276th Engineer Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group, train on engineer skills during two-week premobilization annual training Feb. 8, 2022, at the State Military Reservation in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The unit, which was stood up in 2017, is preparing for its first overseas mobilization, to the Central Command area of operations, this spring.
