Tennessee Airmen Train with Bulgarian Air Force Partners

Airmen from the 134th Air Refueling Wing out of Knoxville, Tennessee, recently trained with Bulgarian firefighters at Bezmer Air Base, Bulgaria. The training centered on emergency response tactics to various aircraft and the overall flight line.

Kentucky Guard ‘Mountain Warriors’ Complete Annual Training

After five days of intense testing, 13 U.S. Army Soldiers and one Finnish Defense Forces soldier received the Expert Infantryman Badge June 15, 2023, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia. The event was run by the 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and tested Soldiers on their proficiency and skill as infantrymen over the course of five days. Soldiers were tested on physical fitness, day and night land navigation, more than 30 medical, weapons and patrol tasks, and a 12-mile ruck march.

West Virginia Guard Hosts Irregular Warfare Exercise

Members of Charlie Company, 5th Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne); Bravo Company, 92d Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne); Bravo Company, 6th Psychological Operations Battalion (Airborne); 193rd Special Operations Medical Group; 4th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company; 4th Civil Affairs Group; and the 4th Marine Corps Advisor Company Alpha, participated with allies and partners from multiple nations in the Ridge Runner Irregular Warfare Exercise throughout West Virginia for two weeks in May and June 2023.

Pennsylvania Guard Cavalry Regiment Conducts Rappel Training

Approximately 25 Soldiers with 1st Squadron, 104th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat team, 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania Army National Guard, conducted rappel training June 13, 2023, at a rock formation near Fort Indiantown Gap. The Soldiers used mountain warfare skills to ascend the north face of the rocks with harnesses and ropes, then rappelled down the south face approximately 100 feet.
