New Jersey Guard Supports Partner Albania in Readiness Exercise

Soldiers with the New Jersey Army National Guard teamed with  the U.S. Army Security Force Assistance Brigade to advise and prepare the Albanian Armed Forces for a critical NATO validation exercise in Bize, Tirana, Albania, Sept. 15, 2022.  The New Jersey National Guard continues an over 20-year state partnership with Albania, while the SFAB Soldiers have been in country since April, embedded with the Albanian Light Infantry Battalion Group.

Idaho Guard Soldiers Conduct Intense Pre-deployment Training

More than 600 Idaho Army National Guard Soldiers, joined by Soldiers from the Montana, Oregon, Ohio and South Carolina Army National Guard, have been training in Fort Bliss, Texas, since mobilizing from Gowen Field in Boise, Idaho, in early August. Task Force Rattler will deploy to Southwest Asia this month to support Operation Spartan Shield.

Puerto Rico National Guard Rescues Hurricane Victims

Members of the Puerto Rico National Guard, 125th Military Police Battalion, rescue a man who had apparently gone out to try to find gasoline and was caught in a flash flood caused by Hurricane Fiona in Ponce, near Mercedita Airport in southern Puerto Rico. The hurricane knocked out power to the entire island.

New York Firemen to Represent Guard at Jungle Warfare School

Army Sgt. William Dunn, left, a member of the 101st Expeditionary Signal Battalion, and Air Force Tech Sgt. Jeremy Miter, assigned to the 274th Air Operations Support Squadron, will represent the New York National Guard and the U.S. military at the annual international course taught at the Brazilian military's jungle warfare training school in Manas, Brazil. The New York National Guard has sent Soldiers and Airmen to the school since 2019 as part of a State Partnership Program agreement with Brazil's armed forces.

New York Air Guard’s 109th Air Wing Conducts ‘Elephant Walk’

The 109th Airlift Wing conducted the unit’s first 'elephant walk' Sept. 10, 2022. An elephant walk is a U.S. Air Force term for the taxiing of military aircraft in close formation, often employed to project air power through the rapid deployment of multiple aircraft at once.

New Hampshire Air Traffic Controllers Increase Readiness

New York Guard Team Studies Domestic Ops Best Practices

New York Army National Guard Soldiers from the 53rd Troop Command work through a case study provided by Joint Staff Training Course instructors from U.S. Northern Command while taking a weekend-long course Sept. 10, 2022, at Camp Smith Training Site near Peekskill, New York. Thirty-four members of the Army and Air Guard and the New York Guard, the state’s volunteer defense force, participated in the training.
