North Dakota provides much-welcomed medical care to African country

U.S Air Force flight surgeon Lt. Col. Amena Salifu walked to the clinic on the broken hip to be examined. The North Dakota National Guard medical group members and support personnel are in Ghana as part of Medflag 2006, which is a U.S. military medical exercise that is geared toward gaining and providing training and experience in management of world health problems, sharing of medical information and techniques with African host countries, and providing humanitarian civic assistance to host nation civilian populations as good will ambassadors of the United States.

AH-64 Apache helicopters from the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade (Task Force Falcon) take off in Afghanistan. The unit is in the midst of yet another major offensive against Taliban insurgents. It's providing aerial support for Operation Mountain Fury, which took place Sept. 16.
