Air Guard spouse named Air Force Spouse of the Year

Megan Glynn, standing in front of a C-130J Super Hercules July 13, 2011, was named 2011 Air Force Spouse of the Year by Military Spouse magazine. Her husband, Air Force Maj. Matt Glynn, is a C-130J pilot with the California Air National Guard's 146 Airlift Wing.

New York Air Guard supports NASA's final shuttle mission

The shuttle Atlantis takes off from Launch Pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center, Fla., on the STS-135 mission, July 8, 2011. This is the final flight of the Space Shuttle Program, during which the STS-135 crew will deliver the Raffaello multipurpose logistics module containing supplies and spare parts for the International Space Station. Members of the New York Air National Guard's 106th Rescue Wing were on hand at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla. to provide rescue support if Atlantis astronauts had been forced to abort the mission and bail out of the spacecraft.
