The 135th Airlift Group transitioned from the C-130J Hercules to the C-27J Spartan, which was designed to meet Air Force requirements for a rugged, medium-sized air-land transport.

New York Air Guard Wing selected to conduct MQ-9 pilot training for Air Force

Members of the 174th Fighter Wing Maintenance Group prepare a MQ-9 Reaper for its initial taxi at Wheeler-Sack Army Air Field at Ft. Drum, N.Y., on June 30, 2011. The pre-taxi activity took place in temporary hanger space provided by the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division. This milestone represented the unit's first step toward flying the MQ-9 from its detachment at Ft. Drum. The wing is based at Hancock Field in Syracuse, New York.

Major Duff is an ear, nose and throat surgeon assigned to the 154th Medical Group, Hawaii Air National Guard. Captain Heng is a medic in the Royal Cambodian Air Force.

commander, and Jim Pryde, a Tuskegee Airman, lay a wreath at the U.S. Air
Force Memorial on July 31, 2011, in Washington, D.C. Pryde served with the
Army Air Corps' 477th Medium Bombardment Group as a combat crewman. During
his tenure, he accrued 1,600 flight hours before continuing his civil service
career as an intelligence analyst with the Armed Forces Security Agency.
