Florida Guard partners with Guyana to boost medical readiness

Sgt. Arielle Tango, a Florida Army Guard medic with the 256th Medical Company Area Support (MCAS), shares the proper technique to transport a casualty with members of Guyana’s defense force and coast guard. Tango was part of a Florida Army Guard team that traveled to Guyana in December as part of Florida’s State Partnership Program to help strengthen military medical readiness with the country.

42nd ID Soldier is first Guard member chosen for DARPA fellowship

New York Army National Guard Capt. Steven Quinones, from Tappan, N.Y., was the first National Guard member chosen for a fellowship with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in Arlington, Va., from September to December 2019. Quinones, a signal officer assigned to the 42nd Infantry Division, worked alongside service members from across the military as well as Department of Defense civilians to develop new technologies.
