NC, Alabama Guard complete Fire Shield 2019 in Moldova

Fire Shield’s mission is sharing knowledge and best practices among the North Carolina and Alabama National Guard artillery experts, Moldovan soldiers and officers and other nations attending the annual event. The NCNG has teamed with Moldova for more than two decades via the State Partnership Program designed to increase peace and stability across Europe.

Washington National Guard conducts tactical medicine course

Members of the 1-303rd Cavalry Squadron receive tactical combat casualty care instruction at a course provided by the Washington State Counterdrug Program. The focus is on the primary interventions or the leading causes of preventable death. Utilizing a mix of classroom presentation and hands-on skills practice, attendees learn to provide basic life-sustaining treatment in a hostile environment.

First responders, volunteers train with Mongolian partners

POW MIA Recognition Day - One MANG Soldier's Story

1st Lt. Vivian Roberts: Only Georgia National Guard WWI POW

Vivian Roberts, the only Georgia Guardsman POW during World War I, in his American Legion uniform. Roberts was shot in the leg and captured by German soldiers in France in 1918. After the war, he served as clerk of Bibb County Superior Court in Georgia.

'Pilot for a Day' at the 179th Airlift Wing

Michigan Guardsman decorated posthumously for organ donation

Michigan National Guard Staff Sgt. Justin Skaggs, a Soldier with the 1225th Support Battalion, Detroit, Mich., died after a motorcycle accident May 23. His decision to be an organ donor saved several lives.
