The units participated in Breakthrough 19, a Hungarian national training exercise that utilized multiple artillery systems from the Hungarian Defence Forces, U.S. Army Europe and Army National Guard units to create a collective capability that increases the interoperability and readiness of the participating militaries.

W.Va. Guard engineers support Resolute Castle in Romania

West Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers with the 1092nd Engineer Battalion, 601st Engineer Support Company (ESC) and 115th Vertical Construction Company (VCC) participate in Resolute Castle 19 at the Joint National Training Center (JNTC) / Cincu Training Area (CTA)  in Cincu, Romania, June 10 - 29, 2019. Exercise Resolute Castle 19 is a U.S. Army Europe – led, multinational, joint exercise occurring from April – September which marries U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard, as well as allied and partner nation engineering unit training opportunities with the completion of tangible construction projects.

Multinational exercise expands Ohio-Serbia State Partnership

Platinum Wolf is a multinational peacekeeping exercise designed to enhance interoperability and cooperation between partner and allied nations while building relationships. As part of Department of Defense’s State Partnership Program, the Ohio National Guard has had a state partnership with Serbia since 2006.

North Dakota Guard leaders meet key leaders in Romanian city

Col. Jon Erickson, the commander of the 141st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, stationed out of Fargo, North Dakota, and the police chief of Slobozia, Romania, exchange gifts at the end of a key leader meeting. Erickson gave a plaque with a bison on top that represents an important part of North Dakota while the police chief gave him his hat. Saber Guardian 19 is an exercise about bringing allies together, to work alongside of each other in order to maintain relationships based on trust that are essential for ensuring global security.
