CAMP BEAUREGARD, La. - Spc. Joseph E. Lindsey and Spc. Brandon W. Beasley, both of West Monroe, La., test boat motors at Camp Beauregard in Pineville, La. The motors are used in 15-foot aluminum boats for Search and Rescue missions in the wake of natural disasters such as Hurricane Gustav. Lindsey and Beasley, who are assigned to Detachment 2, 844th Engineer Company, 527th Engineer Battalion in Ruston, La., are both mechanics in the Louisiana Army National Guard.

Louisiana Army National Guardsman Spc. Curtis L. Morrison of Lake Providence, La., and Mayor Floyd Baker of Bonita, La., fill sandbags to attempt to reduce the flooding threat in the small community of Bonita. Hurricane Gustav dumped over 17 inches of rain in Northeast Louisiana after making landfall on the coast of South Louisiana. Morrison is assigned to the 528th Engineer Battalion in Monroe, La.
