Arkansas ADT stands up operations in Zabul province

Guardsmen from the 1176th Transportation Company, Tennessee Army National Guard, stationaed in Smyrna, Tenn., help offload victims rescued from their homes due to severe flooding in Gallatin, Tenn. on May 2, 2010. Storms caused severe weather conditions throughout the South, forcing many residents to evacuate their homes.

The Soldiers, members of the Arkansas Agriculture Development Team in Zabul, visited the bazaar to locate stores that supply farming materials and equipment in order to establish a supply chain to support the Team's agricultural education and training programs throughout the province. The Arkansas National Guard ADT brings with them expertise in a wide array of farming, agriculture and irrigation specialties.

Aircrews from three Air National Guard and one Air Force Reserve units provide assistance to the U.S. Forest Service, state and local agencies, and the National Interagency Fire Center in battling large, uncontrolled wildfires throughout the nation.
