This Texas Army National Guard Soldier gets to wear civilian clothes to prevent wear and tear on his military uniforms while caring for U.S. Border Patrol horses during the year he is serving with Operation Jump Start. Termite is one of his charges at the Del Rio Station in Texas. Border Patrol agents ride horses into areas unsuitable for vehicles. The National Guard is helping the Border Patrol secure the U.S. border with Mexico.
