Idaho Guard aviation unit takes part in major combat operation against Taliban

AH-64 Apache helicopters from the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade (Task Force Falcon) take off in Afghanistan. The unit is in the midst of yet another major offensive against Taliban insurgents. It's providing aerial support for Operation Mountain Fury, which took place Sept. 16.

Capt. Jacob Roy leads the Vermont Army National Guard's 131st Engineer Company onto the Fort McCoy, Wis., parade field during a deployment ceremony Sept. 23, 2006. The 131st includes Soldiers from Vermont and Indiana, and is attached to the Arkansas Army National Guard's 875th Engineer Battalion, which departed Arkansas July 22. The unit has finished a grueling two-month training regiment at Fort McCoy and will depart shortly on a year-long deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
