Vermont City Builds on Guard's Partnership with Senegal

The Vermont The Vermont National Guard, shown working at the Thies Regional Hospital in Thies, Senegal, as part of a medical readiness exercise organized by the State Partnership Program, has partnered with Senegal under the program since 2008. The Burlington, Vermont, City Council voted unanimously March 25, 2024, to forge a sister city relationship with Thies-East, Senegal.
Pennsylvania National Guard Hosts Lithuania Foreign Minister

U.S. Soldiers with the Pennsylvania National Guard host a delegation that includes Lithuania Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis and Audra Plepytė, Lithuania ambassador to the United States, during a visit to Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania, March 23, 2024. Maj. Gen. James McCormack, assistant adjutant general, and Maj. Alex Stewart, State Partnership Program director, gave the delegation a tour that included the Training Support Center, live fire ranges and the Eastern Army National Guard Aviation Training Site at Muir Army Heliport.

Hokanson Announces new State Partnership Program Nations

West Virginia National Guard, Gabon Announce State Partnership

The West Virginia National Guard has been selected as the U.S. partner to the nation of Gabon in central Africa for the Department of Defense National Guard Bureau State Partnership Program, Gov. Jim Justice announced March 6. Gabon is the 19th African nation to join with a U.S. state via the SPP.
