Wisconsin Guard, Papua New Guinea strengthen partnership

Maj. Gen Gilbert Toropo, the Papua New Guinea chief of defense, presents Maj. Gen. Paul Knapp, Wisconsin’s adjutant general, with a gift in September 2021 in Hawaii. Knapp visited Hawaii to meet with Toropo and attend a series of conferences in conjunction with the Wisconsin National Guard’s partnership with Papua New Guinea through the State Partnership Program.

Indiana Guard helps Niger military address mental health

Indiana National Guard Cpt. Jennifer Nevers, a behavioral health officer with the Indiana National Guard’s 738th Medical Company Area Support, meets Lt. Col. Aichatou Ousmane Issaka, the Niger Armed Forces director of psychological and social services, in Niamey, Niger, to strategize on mental health issues for the military. The Indiana Guard and Niger are partners under the National Guard State Partnership Program.

NH Guard announces state partnership with Cabo Verde

The national flag of Cabo Verde. The New Hampshire National Guard announced Oct. 18 it has been selected as the new state partner for the Republic of Cabo Verde, an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean off the northwestern coast of Africa.

Vermont National Guard to add Austria as third state partner

Texas National Guard hosts Egyptian Armed Forces for summit

The Texas National Guard hosted senior officers from the Egyptian Armed Forces for a week-long summit at the end of September. The Texas National Guard formally established a partnership with the Arab Republic of Egypt through the National Guard State Partnership Program in June.

Wisconsin National Guard builds partnership with Nicaragua
October 5, 2021
A donated firetruck is offloaded for use by the Boberos de Esteli, a firefighting organization from the mountainous area of northern Nicaragua. The Wisconsin National Guard helps support Denton Flights, an aid program that uses U.S. military aircraft as space is available to transport relief supplies, as part of its State Partnership Program relationship with Nicaragua.

Pa. Guard, Lithuanians train together in platoon exchange

Thirty-three Soldiers from Lithuania’s land forces reserve component came to Fort Indiantown Gap Sept. 6-17 for an annual platoon exchange, part of the Pennsylvania National Guard’s State Partnership Program.
