Thailand, US strengthen partnership with humanitarian civic action

West Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers conducted a second round of light wheeled vehicle mechanic training with Peru’s armed forces Jan. 15, 2020, in Lima, Peru. The mission is part of the Department of State’s Global Peace Operations Initiative and the National Guard Bureau’s State Partnership Program.

Maryland's State Partnership Program was a focal point of the meeting. Guest speakers included Michael C. Allison, principal deputy national intelligence officer for military issues at the National Intelligence Council; Laura Cooper, deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russian, Ukrainian, and Eurasian Affairs; and H.E. Jonatan Vseviov, ambassador of Estonia.
