New York Guard Partner South Africa Signs West Point Pact

New York Army National Guard Maj. Anthony McLean, the executive officer of the 369th Sustainment Brigade, conducts a tour of the brigade’s historic Harlem Armory for a delegation of South African officers and academics April 21, 2022. The South Africans met with officials at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point to sign an agreement setting up an exchange program with South Africa’s officer education program.
New York, South African leaders reinvigorate partnership

US, South African Soldiers strengthen partnership

Doug Merritt, the U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa command inspector general, discusses the IG inspection process and functions with South African National Defense Force counterparts Oct. 15, 2021. Merrit and other SETAF-AF IG staff joined with South African counterparts to discuss roles and responsibilities of the office of the inspector general. Representatives from the New York National Guard, State Partnership Program partner to South Africa, also attended the weeklong set of meetings.
