Oklahoma National Guard, Azerbaijan hold SPP exchange

Kentucky Air Guardsmen rescue drowning infant

Three pararescuemen from the Kentucky Air National Guard's 123rd Special Tactics Squadron rescued a drowning child at a pool in Louisville, Ky., March 15, 2022. Master Sgt. Elmer Quijada, left; Tech. Sgt. Ryan Penne, center; and Master Sgt. Devin Butcher, who were conducting unrelated training at the pool and are certified paramedics, administered life-saving aid to the child, who had stopped breathing.
Vermont Guard, Senegalese Air Force conduct aviation exchange

Vermont Army National Guard rotary-wing pilots with 86th Troop Command conducted an aviation exchange with Senegalese Air Force pilots March 13-19, 2022. During the exchange, part of the State Partnership Program, the pilots discussed aviation safety and visited Senegalese Air Force facilities.
Nebraska Guard recognized for protecting whooping crane

The Nebraska Army National Guard was awarded 1st place for Natural Resources Management (Individual/Team) in the 2022 Secretary of the Army Environmental Awards for its work with the U.S. Geological Survey and the Crane Trust to study endangered whooping crane behavior during their annual migration through central Nebraska.

Virginia National Guard, Tajikistan conduct SPP exchange

Virginia National Guard Soldiers conduct an infantry tactics exchange and countering unmanned air systems exchange with the Republic of Tajikistan March 7-11, 2022, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. They were conducted in support of the Department of Defense’s State Partnership Program, in which Virginia and Tajikistan have been partners since 2003.
