Wisconsin Guard-Papua New Guinea Strengthen Partnership

Soldiers with the Wisconsin Army National Guard’s 1st Squadron, 105th Cavalry Regiment, trained with soldiers of the 1st and 2nd Royal Pacific Infantry Regiments, Papua New Guinea Defence Force, during Tamiok Strike 2023 at Taruma Barracks, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea beginning July 31. Tamiok Strike 23 is sponsored by U.S. Army Pacific, and hosted by the PNGDF with U.S. forces under the command of the 130th Engineer Brigade, 8th Theater Support Command.

Maryland Guard Soldier Recognized for Off-duty Water Rescue

Maryland National Guard Staff Sgt. Charles Brauning, assigned to A Company, 1st Battalion, 224th Aviation Regiment of the 29th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade, is awarded an Army Achievement Medal in Phoenix, Arizona., July 30, 2023, for rescuing a 10-year-old boy at risk of drowning. Brauning was attending training at the Western Army Aviation Training Site in Red Rock, Arizona, and on an off-duty river tubing trip when he saw the boy fall into the river July 17.

Montana National Guard Hosts Regional Cooperation Exercise
