Florida Guardsmen credit training for success with Tropical Storm Fay missions

Soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 124th Infantry Regiment make their way through a washed out section of roadway while assisting search and rescue teams help citizens trapped in their homes by flood waters caused by Tropical Storm Fay. The Florida National Guard currently has nearly 500 Soldiers and Airmen assisting with recovery and logistical operations in the wake of Tropical Storm Fay.

Pentagon Memorial designer reflects on work as opening nears

The Pentagon Memorial benches are arranged according to the victims' ages and where they were during the crash. Col. Canfield Boone of the Indiana Army National Guard and Chief Warrant Officer 4 William Ruth of the Maryland Army National Guard were killed at the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001. The benches representing the 125 lives lost in the Pentagon are positioned so that the Pentagon is in the background view of a visitor reading the victim's name.
